Twenty-six people were killed and about 20 injured in a shooting at a Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, on Sunday. It's the deadliest shooting in Texas history and the fifth-deadliest shooting in modern US history. It comes just 35 days after the deadliest shooting in modern US history, in Las Vegas.

Reminder:

Trump Weighs in on Texas Shooting:
"This isn't a guns situation. This is a mental health problem at the highest level. It's a very, very sad event," President Trump said this morning at a joint press conference in Tokyo with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

In February, Trump signed a regulation undoing a rule signed by President Obama that required the Social Security Administration to share information about people with mental illness with the national gun background check system.

A Trump Administration Report Acknowledges Climate Change:
The Climate Science Special Report, released Friday, (you can read it here) concluded it is "extremely likely" that human activity is the "dominant cause" of global warming and other climate changes since the mid 20th century. "There is no convincing alternative explanation supported by the extent of the observational evidence," the report reads

White House spokesman Raj Shah said in a statement, "The climate has changed and is always changing. In the United States, energy related carbon dioxide emissions have been declining, are expected to remain flat through 2040, and will also continue to decline as a share of world emissions."

Rand Paul Was Assaulted in His Home:
A neighbor allegedly assaulted Paul in his home in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on Friday. An adviser to Paul told CNN the Republican Senator suffered five rib fractures. Paul tweeted that he and his wife Kelley appreciate "the overwhelming support after Friday's unfortunate event. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers."

Brazile Considered Swapping Clinton for Biden in 2016:
In her upcoming book "Hacks," out tomorrow, Donna Brazile writes that she considered initiating a process to replace Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine as the Dems' nominees after Clinton fainted in September, according to a copy of the book obtained by the Washington Post. Her dream replacement team: Joe Biden with Corey Booker as his running mate. But Brazile later changed her mind. "I thought of Hillary, and all the women in the country who were so proud of and excited about her," she wrote. "I could not do this to them."

The former interim DNC chair was on ABC's "This Week" Sunday and said she found "no evidence" the Democratic primary was rigged.

Our Daily Melania:
Kate's out this week and will be traveling with the first lady on her leg of the Asia trip. Before she left, Kate wrote this piece on Melania's "fashion diplomacy." This is what Melania's communications director Stephanie Grisham told her:

"Mrs. Trump always wants to be thoughtful and respect the traditions and protocols of the countries she visits. She knows she is representing the United States, and wants to be sure she is appropriate in all that she does. She is planning her wardrobe around each stop and visit, which I believe is pretty typical of anyone who is packing for a trip."

Britney Spears Has a Children's Cancer Facility Named After Her:
The Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation Britney Spears Campus held its grand opening Saturday in Las Vegas, and its namesake was on hand to deliver remarks, be presented with a proclamation from Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak, and cut the ceremonial red ribbon with oversized golden scissors. The facility opened with a $1 million donation from Britney, which came from ticket sales to her "Piece of Me" show since 2014.

Here she is delivering remarks, looking like she's about to announce her candidacy for California's 33rd district, or perhaps, for mayor of Calabasas:
