What the White House is Talking About:
President Donald Trump departed today on a 12-day, five-nation trip to Asia. He first makes an overnight stop in Hawaii before heading on to Japan on Saturday. Here's a handy map of his itinerary -- there's an extra day for the Philippines, a stop that was just announced this morning.

What the White House Press Corps Is Talking About:
Most have already gotten a jump on the Asia travel so they'll be on the ground in Japan before Trump lands.

Our Daily Melania:
Melania Trump also left for Asia today, alongside her husband. (Fun fact: While in Japan, she'll be partially protected by an all-female Japanese police unit.) Look for her to do plenty of cultural visits and spousal events, but also a few things solo -- she's been bolder on the world stage than she is sometimes back at home. Also, I predict her outfits will slay; we're already off to a good start this morning with an Emilio Pucci purple coat and matching Christian Louboutin heels.

Parting Words Before Asia Trip:
CNN's Joe Johns got in a question to Trump before he hopped aboard Marine One on the South Lawn. Johns asked if the President still maintains there was no contact between his campaign and Russia, to which Trump responded:  "All I can tell you is this: There was no collusion, there was no nothing. It is a disgrace frankly that they continue. You want to look at Hillary Clinton and you want to look at the new book that was just put out by Donna Brazile where she basically bought the DNC and stole the election from Bernie. So that is what you ought to take a look at."

And about that meeting he was in with ex-campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, who has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, and others memorialized in a photograph? "I don't remember much about that meeting," Trump said.

When You Erase the President's Twitter Account, For Kicks:
On Thursday night, the President's Twitter account, @realDonaldTrump, disappeared for a bit. Alerts, panic followed. Turns out -- it was just a Twitter employee having his yuks on his last day at work who erased it for funs. Um, this seems like it's sort of dangerous, and a wild reveal into the access random Twitter employees have to the account of the most powerful man in the world? Twitter says it's looking into the matter:

I'm on SiriusXM This Weekend. Have a Listen:
CNN senior political analyst Mark Preston called the other week and was like, let's talk about Melania Trump -- a subject I can always talk about. It turned into an hour of discussion for Preston's fab insidery SiriusXM show, "Full Stop With Mark Preston," which airs at noon ET Saturday and 1 a.m. ET and 5 p.m. ET Sunday on the POTUS channel. Have a listen if you get a chance. Here's a snippet

Dress Like the First Daughter:
So, if you know me, I sometimes use this space to talk about how Ivanka Trump's outfit choices confuse me. It's not necessarily that the clothes are bad; it's more like I don't think they're right for the occasion. A speech she gave Thursday in Japan was an example. She wore a $1,960 Miu Miu suit jacket, with a matching $1,445 miniskirt. I thought the skirt was too short. Do you? Or am I being a prude? Here she is standing next to the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

The Tweets @jack Faved About Trump's Account Vanishing:
Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey is a prolific faver. These are the five tweets he smashed that like button for on Thursday night about the 11-minute disappearance of @realDonaldTrump.

How Fake News Tweets Got Embedded in Real News Stories:
The House Intelligence Committee released the user names of 2,752 Twitter accounts the social network said are connected to the  Russian troll farm Internet Research Agency. Some posed as Republican accounts, such as @10_gop, and some as news organizations, such as @DailyNewsDenver. You can see the full list here. Some of these accounts even found their way into real news, with embedded tweets in stories by The Washington Post, CBS, Vox and The Miami Herald. May this be the beginning of the end of Twitter roundup posts.

Donna Brazile Sets Off DNC Drama:
Can we talk about Donna Brazile coming in with *the* book tease of the year Thursday? She dropped an excerpt from her forthcoming book on Politico alleging she found a document while she was interim Democratic National Committee chair detailing a joint-fundraising agreement between the DNC and the Hillary Victory Fund and Hillary for America that began in August 2015, four months after the former secretary of state announced her 2016 candidacy for president and nearly a year before she clinched the Democratic nomination. "I had been wondering why it was that I couldn't write a press release without passing it by Brooklyn," Brazile wrote, referring to Clinton campaign headquarters. "Well, here was the answer."

When asked by CNN's Jake Tapper if the Democratic primary race was rigged in favor of Clinton, Sen. Elizabeth Warren said it was. And Trump even weighed in, with some rare book promo for "Donna B."

Brazile's "Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-Ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House" is out Tuesday, and it's already a best-seller, ranked No. 1 on Amazon's list of election-related books.

Spacey Accused of Sexual Harassment on "House of Cards" Set:
Eight former or current employees who worked on the Netflix show told CNN that Kevin Spacey's behavior was "predatory" and included nonconsensual touching. Spacey didn't respond to CNN's request for comments.

Disney Blacklists Los Angeles Times Over Coverage:
In a note in its holiday movie preview section, the Los Angeles Times says Walt Disney Co. studios did not offer advance screenings because of its coverage of the company's business relationship with the city of Anaheim, California, in this deeply reported September 24 story that tracks the money and politics of Disney in Disneyland's hometown.

CMAs Apologizes for Threatening to Boot Reporters for Asking About Politics:
According to media guidelines published by Nashville Scene, reporters were asked not to focus coverage on "the Las Vegas tragedy, gun rights, political affiliations or topics of the like" and warned if they did so, "your credential will be reviewed and potentially revoked via security escort."

Co-host Brad Paisley tweeted that he hoped the CMAS "do the right thing and rescind these ridiculous and unfair press guidelines." About two hours after his tweet, I got a statement from CMA apologizing for the restrictions. "The sentiment was not to infringe and was created with the best of intentions to honor and celebrate country music."
