Giving Artists With Disabilities a Space to Thrive
Creative Growth Art Center in Oakland, California, is the world's first and largest nonprofit center dedicated to giving artists with disabilities the space to let their talents shine. Since 1974, the center has served hundreds of artists with developmental, mental and physical disabilities who lacked formal education in the arts, providing them with the tools, space and inspiration needed to grow into professional, exhibited artists.
These Wildcats Need the Forest to Survive
This little old lady is Button, a 21-year-old margay at the Santa Ana Zoo. Native to the dense forests of Central and South America, these wildcats are tree-dwelling creatures whose wide feet and flexible toes allow them to climb, jump and hang from branches. But, as they rely on trees for survival, margays are extremely sensitive to deforestation.
