Mentoring the next generation with CJ McCollum

Hey friend, This week, we're proud to welcome CJ McCollum as Great Big Story's guest editor. You know him as the superstar shooting guard for the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers. Now, we've joined forces with CJ to tell stories of mentors inspiring the next generation to do good. From a practicing falconer helping women soar, to a softball league inciting peace among rival gangs, we're celebrating those who spark a fire and pass on the torch.  In mentors we trust, Great Big Story   Giving Back, One Basketball Court at a Time When basketball courts end up with cracks, dips and divots, Dan Peterson and company step in. With the help of artists and community volunteers, Project Backboard resurfaces public courts and turns them into fly, large-scale pieces of art. The organization has brought new life and sleek aesthetics to over two dozen basketball courts around the world—including in Dan's hometown of New Rochelle, New York.
