Abby Stein was raised in the Hasidic community of Brooklyn, N.Y. When she left the community she was raised in, she transitioned to a different, secular life, and also came out as a woman. She hopes that her story will help others.
Charlie Craggs is a woman on a mission. The goal? To eradicate transphobia. The plan? To do it while being absolutely fabulous. In 2013 Craggs began Nail Transphobia, a pop-up nail salon that offers free manicures over discussions about trans issues. It's what Craggs calls "fabulous activism." So far, she's had over 10,000 conversations with people from all walks of life.
Around six years ago, Corey Maison first came out to her mom as transgender. A few years later, her mom Eric came out as transgender too. The transition hasn't been easy, but now that the Maisons are living as their authentic selves, the two say it's family that has kept them strong.
