What Washington is Talking About:
Kourtney Kardashian is meeting with members of Congress on cosmetics and FDA regulations, pink-haired Cambridge Analytica whistleblower Christopher Wylie is meeting with House Judiciary Committee Dems, Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson's confirmation hearing to be VA secretary has been delayed following allegations of misconduct, and Mike Pompeo made it out of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee with a favorable recommendation for the secretary of state job.

What America is Talking About:
A day after his wife's funeral, former President George H.W. Bush was in intensive care for an infection that spread to his blood. Bush family spokesman Jim McGrath said Bush is "responding to treatments and appears to be recovering."

Poll of the Day:
Here's one poll where President Trump is on track with his predecessors. A Gallup poll released yesterday found 37% of registered American voters believe Trump deserves re-election, about the same as both Obama and Clinton had more than a year after they took office.

About *That* Hat:
You knew FLOTUS would slay at the state arrival ceremony today, wearing a white Michael Kors Collection belted asymmetric blazer and skirt suit ($2,195) a white wide-brimmed hat by Herve Pierre, the designer who made her Inaugural gown, per Kate. She's off because she's on Melania duty today, but follow her on Twitter for the latest.

Here FLOTUS is with French President Emmanuel Macron, his wife Brigitte Macron, and her husband on the Truman balcony as Macron does what appears to be a 🤘 while holding hands.

"A Higher Loyalty" is a Hit:
Former FBI Director James Comey's book "A Higher Loyalty" has sold more than 600,000 copies, per the New York Times.

Obama's Gonna Go Ahead and Start Making Those Million Young Obamas Now:
Former President Obama said last month in Tokyo he wanted the work of his foundation to foster future leaders, AKA "a million young Barack Obamas or Michelle Obamas," not just in the US but around the world. We're now getting a first look at what that means. The year-long initiative "Obama Foundation Leaders: Africa" was announced Monday for 200 "emerging" leaders in Africa. And on July 17, to mark the 100th anniversary of Nelson Mandela's birth, Obama will speak in Johannesburg.

Romney Trolls Russell:
Utah Senate candidate Mitt Romney was at the Jazz-Thunder game last night in Salt Lake City wearing a customized Jazz jersey over his button-up, and held up four fingers after the Thunder's Russell Westbrook received his fourth personal foul. Romney's jersey had his last name across the back and a 5, which just so happens to be the number of campaigns he's run ('94 Senate in Massachusetts, '02 Massachusetts gubernatorial, '08 presidential, '12 presidential, '18 Senate in Utah). Amazing.

Eagles Set for White House Visit:
A spokesman for the Super Bowl champs said the team has been in contact with the White House and discussions are underway for a White House visit. Several players have already said they're not planning on going. Chris Long, who skipped the Patriot's White House visit last year when he was a member of that Super Bowl-winning team, said even before this year's big game that he wouldn't go. And Malcom Jenkins told our Van Jones the visit was "not worth my time."

YouTube Touts AI Takedown Number:
Big tech is big on promising AI will help keep bad content like pornography and terrorist propaganda off its platforms. YouTube said Monday more than half of its videos taken down for violent extremism were removed before they received 10 or more views, a significant increase from the same quarter last year.

P.S.:
Listen, I'm not typically one for "Carpool Karaoke," but I am here for Christina Aguilera belting out "Fighter" and "Dirty" in the passenger seat any day. It's time for another Xtina album, imo.
