Building a Home Without Walls, One Girl Scout at a Time Girl Scouts of Greater New York Troop 6000 is a lot like its sister groups around the world. Members earn badges, sell cookies and live by the Girl Scout law. But there's something that makes them extra special: theirs is the first permanent Girl Scout troop for those living in the New York City shelter system.
