Making a world of a difference

Because we love (and care) about our planet 3/30/19

This week, we kicked off a month-long celebration of our Great Big Planet, starting with a team of four-legged conservationists sniffing out everything from invasive species to illegal poachers. Our spectacular planet sustains and supports us, it's up to all of us to do what we can to return the favor. Stay tuned over the next few weeks as we continue to shine a spotlight on the people taking incredible action on Mother Earth's behalf.

Meet the Super Dogs Protecting Mother Earth

With their noses to the ground, these four-legged heroes are actively defending our planet by sniffing out wildlife crime. From being able to sleuth out everything from illegal poaching to invasive species, they're invaluable allies in the fight for conservation.

The Couple Who Replanted a Rainforest

What was once 300 acres of coffee and cardamom fields in India's Southern Ghats is now lush native forest, all thanks to the hard work and dedication of Pamela Gale Malhotra and her husband Anil. The couple started India's first private wildlife sanctuary, SAI sanctuary, and for the past two decades they have been nursing the land back to life. Here's how they did it.

Saving India's Most Sacred River

Each year, about 8 million tons of flowers are dumped into India's rivers. Unfortunately, pesticides and other chemicals from these flowers are mixing with the water, exacerbating an ecosystem already plagued with pollution. Enter HelpUsGreen, an organization that has begun collecting the waste flowers and upcycling them into products like incense, soap and biodegradable styrofoam.

Eco-Friendly DIY Homes Fit for a Hobbit

In Pembrokeshire, Wales, the cutest, handmade houses have been popping up around the county. These wee homes, made of natural, locally sourced materials and scavenged bits from the surrounding countryside, embody low-impact living.
