More than 40 immigrant US Army recruits and reservists who were promised a path to citizenship for their service have been discharged, immigration attorneys told the AP, and many were not told why. The program required service members to have legal status in the US, and more than 5,000 were recruited for it in 2016.

Trump Says He Still Trusts Kim:
When asked by reporters yesterday if he still trusts Kim Jong Un, despite reports North Korea has continued to make improvements to missile facilities, Trump said:

"I had a very good feeling about him from the standpoint -- I shook his hand. I thought we got along very well. I thought we had a good chemistry together. I think we understand each other. I really believe that he sees a different future for North Korea. I hope that's true. If that's not true, we'll go back to the other way."

Trump Missing Out on Tax Break:
New York City has pulled a $48,000 condominium abatement tax break for Trump's home there because it's no longer his permanent residence since moving to the White House, per New York Daily News. "We have removed the exemption and have contacted the managing agent to update their records," Sonia Alleyne, a spokeswoman for New York's Department of Finance.

Raygun Trolls Alex Jones:
Conspiracy theorist and InfoWars host Alex Jones tweeted on Sunday that Democrats planned to launch a civil war on the 4th of July. Needless to say, that didn't happen, so Raygun, the Iowa brand that sells novelty political shirts and other items, made a $23 "Second Civil War Survivor!" tee, with proceeds going to the ACLU.

The 4th of July Statue of Liberty Protester Inspires Fan Art:
Therese Patricia Okoumou, the woman who protested the Trump administration's immigrant detention policies by climbing the Statue of Liberty Wednesday, has become a new liberal folk hero. She was cheered outside a Manhattan court Thursday ("I went as high as I could," she said), and she's inspired a slew of tributes from artists (check her hashtag on Insta), including this updated Power to the Polls poster from Tracie Ching:

An upcoming demonstration on the National Mall is turning to street art to get their message out. These posters for the Poor People's Campaign are up at V and 8th St. NW:

There were 13 different posters up for the campaign, which cites "our deepest religious and constitutional values" as why the US needs a "moral revival" on issues including poverty, racism, and criminal justice. The group's demonstration is scheduled for July 23.
