Rising From a Volcano, This Chapel Touches the Clouds
If you want to visit the Chapel of Saint-Michel d'Aiguilhe, or "Saint Michael of the Needle," you'll have to climb up—way up. Located in France, the chapel sits atop a distinct volcanic plug, rising nearly 300 feet in the air. Each year, thousands of visitors scale 268 steps to explore the chapel and take in its stunning panoramic views.
Riding (Horses) for Compton
Hidden among the homes and businesses sits the Compton Jr. Posse. It's a stable where young people learn to ride, compete and care for horses. Shola Oyefeso is one of the group's more experienced riders, and she's proud to challenge stereotypes about who belongs in the saddle.
Love & Other Bugs
It's a love story for the ages: man, woman … and a cart full of fried insects. Husband and wife team Lek and Baitoey sell deep-fried scorpions, tarantulas, caterpillars and other creepy crawlies at a food stall in Bangkok, Thailand. Their cart has become a popular tourist destination on Khao San Road, serving up the local delicacies daily.
