Trump Breaks His Silence: He almost went two days without tweeting

What the White House Is Talking About:
President Donald Trump today holds his first press conference in about three weeks, this time with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.

What the White House Press Corps Is Talking About:
Still digesting James Comey's testimony. Assuming Trump will be asked about it today.

Legal Guns:
Trump's attorney is planning to file a complaint against Comey with the Justice Department and Senate Judiciary Committee over the leaking of memos to the press. A source told CNN it's not clear when the complaint will be filed, but officials are "actively exploring their options."

Trump Breaks His Silence:
He almost made it two whole days without tweeting, but he broke his silence this morning, saying this about Comey:

Not Very Subtle:
Here's how the New York Daily News front page covered the Comey hearing:

McCain Blames His Late-Night Viewing Habits:
Sen. John McCain's questions to Comey at Thursday's hearing had a lot of people confused, and he blamed it on staying up late to watch the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team.

The Diamondbacks responded with a shruggie:

But the Clothes:
The Washington Post's Robin Givhan took a different, albeit stylish, approach to dissecting the Comey hearings. She says he was "dressed with the understated confidence of a star." Also, there's a seersucker explainer.

What Washington Is Talking About:
This weekend is Capitol Pride with Miley Cyrus, Tinashe and the Pointer Sisters performing Sunday.

What America is Talking About:
Katy Perry's new album, "Witness," is out today, and would you look at that, rival Taylor Swift has put her entire discography back on streaming services and discounted her albums on iTunes! Her management said it was to commemorate her 100 million song certification by the Recording Industry Association of America, but if you're familiar with how those certifications work, you'll know RIAA only certifies album and song sales when asked. Here's what the RIAA says about its digital single audit requirements:

What London Is Talking About:
British Prime Minister Theresa May's Conservative Party didn't do as well as she hoped in Thursday's election, but she said she will still form a government.

Poll of the Day:
It's Comey's word against Trump's, and according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll released Wednesday, American adults are more likely to believe Comey.

The poll found 50% don't trust what Trump says about Russian interference in the 2016 election at all, compared with 25% for Comey.

This ISIS Trial, Man:
I'm fascinated with the trial in Alexandria, Virginia, of Mohamad Khweis, a 27-year-old man who's accused of supporting ISIS. You can read more about it here in The Washington Post, but here are some highlights: The Northern Virginia Community College grad said he read about ISIS online, traveled to Turkey and changed his Twitter handle to a jihad reference, which he thought would get the attention of ISIS "facilitators." It did, and Khweis was taken with other recruits to Syria and asked for personal information, including birthday, blood type, shoe size, skills and "specialty before jihad." He said other recruits said they heard it was "impossible to be Muslim" in the United States and they'd heard about violence against Muslims here. He said he didn't fit in and left after 2 1/2 months.

Politics for Your Ears:
It's usually better to listen to music than read about, and since I write a lot about music here, we're due for a playlist. "COVER/LINE Mixtape 6.9" is about the week in politics and news, made up mostly of new songs, with a few pop classics for good measure. You can spin it on Spotify, and the tracklist is below.
Credit: Spotify
  1. "Bigger Than Me" -- Katy Perry: The song she said was inspired by the 2016 election results.
  2. "Down" -- Fifth Harmony ft. Gucci Mane: 5H's first song since Camila Cabello left the group includes the line "FBI interrogation/I would get up there and lie for you."
  3. "Perfect Places" -- Lorde: A new Lorde track in honor of Comey saying, "Lordy, I hope there are tapes."
  4. "Cut to the Feeling" -- Carly Rae Jepsen: The latest from Capitol Pride's 2015 headliner.
  5. "Timber" -- Kesha ft. Pitbull: Since Jerry Seinfeld wouldn't give her a hug. (BTW, he said it was because he didn't know who she was. "I'm 63, I don't know every pop star.")
  6. "Toxic" -- Britney Spears: Because hackers are accused of using her Instagram comment section to post instructions, and that's some toxic garbage that her iconic account does not deserve.
  7. "Old Habits Die Hard" -- Allie X: Trump almost made it a full 42 hours without tweeting, but he broke his silence this morning attacking Comey, because ~old habits die hard.~
  8. "To the World" -- Kanye West ft. R. Kelly & Teyana Taylor: The would-be 2020 presidential candidate turned 40 this week, so here's the song where he rapped, "Mitt Romney don't pay no tax."
  9. "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" Live From Manchester -- Ariana Grande: The breakout benefit single from last weekend's "One Love Manchester" concert.
