Cross a Canyon on Peru's Last Handwoven Bridge
In the region of Cusco in Peru, a unique centuries-old Incan tradition continues to this day. Each year during the second week of June, hundreds of locals gather to hand build a new Q'eswachaka bridge over the ApurÃmac River. Using only natural fibers and no small measure of dedication and teamwork, the community tears down the previous year's bridge and constructs a new one in an epic three-day feat.

Harnaam Kaur is a woman, a model and an anti-bullying activist who possesses a very unique feature: an amazing beard. She was born with polycystic ovarian syndrome—a condition that can cause diabetes, alopecia and facial hair growth. Although she is proud of how she looks now, Kaur's journey to authentic self-acceptance was not easy.
The Women Taking on the Macho World of Mariachi
Mariachi is a folkloric tradition as macho as it is Mexican. Eight years ago, Mireya Ramos and Shae Fiol sought to up-end convention and founded Mariachi Flor de Toloache, New York City's first all-female mariachi band.
