What Washington Is Talking About:
Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló is in Washington today, on Capitol Hill and meeting with President Trump.

What America Is Talking About:
White supremacist Richard Spencer is speaking at the University of Florida this afternoon. The cost for security is more than $600,000, and Florida Gov. Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency for Alachua County, home of the university, so law enforcement can "work together more efficiently."

Poll of the Day:
Most Americans think the Trump administration and Congress should focus more on trying to make the current health insurance system work than trying to repeal and replace it, per a CNN poll. The survey found 60% said they think lawmakers should try to make what we have work and 37% said replace it.

@Ten_GOP was Russia Connected:
During the 2016 campaign, I never noticed any of the accounts in the Russia-connected social media catfishing -- or at least I didn't think so until now. I wasn't a fan of Heart of Texas or Blacktivist or LGBT United or any of the other pages believed to be run by Russian groups such as the Internet Research Agency. But I did see @Ten_GOP. The account, which some assumed was for the Tennessee Republican Party, was run by Russians, two people familiar with matter told The Washington Post. Maybe you saw this tweet from August trying to pass off a photo from the Cleveland Cavaliers' 2016 championship parade as the crowd outside Trump's Phoenix rally:

The account was created in November 2015 and suspended in August. It was retweeted by well-known accounts, including former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn, Roger Stone, MSNBC's Chris Hayes and even Nicki Minaj. The singer retweeted the account's tweet about a live-streamed shooting in Cleveland:

Eminem Cheered, Kid Rock Booed at Pistons' Season Opener:
Two of the most politically vocal people in popular music right now are both from Michigan, though they're on opposite sides of the spectrum, and both were on the Jumbotron at the Pistons' first game at the new Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday night. Eminem was cheered when he took the mic to rev up the crowd, and moments later, when Kid Rock appeared on the large screen, he was booed. The venue is where Kid Rock had played several shows earlier and registered fans to vote. Said Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy, "Without making a statement, they were able to make a statement."

Jaguars Owner: Trump Hates the NFL Because He's Jealous:
Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan told USA Today that Donald Trump's NFL obsession is "a very personal issue with him." "He's been elected President, where maybe a great goal he had in life to own an NFL team is not very likely," he said. "So to make it tougher, or to hurt the league, it's very calculated."

Trump made an unsuccessful bid to buy the Buffalo Bills in 2014, and is the former owner of the now-defunct US Football League team New Jersey Generals. (The league lasted three seasons and folded in 1986 -- you can read up more on it here.) Khan purchased the Jaguars in 2011 for $760 million, and he and his team were the first to lock arms during the National Anthem for the first game of the NFL season after Trump's criticism of kneeling.

About That Fake Melania Trump Body Double Conspiracy Theory:
It's been awhile since a political meme had me LOL-ing as hard as this one. A tweet from a California man whose bio says that he sells hemp syrup claims the woman standing next to the President last week isn't really the first lady, receiving more than 58,000 retweets.

A White House official told CNN: "Once again we find ourselves consumed with a ridiculous nonstory when we could be talking about the work the first lady is doing on behalf of children, including the opioid crisis that is gripping our nation."

The joke has taken on a life of its own. Most people aren't taking it seriously but having fun with it. I feel like the meme resonates with people so much because Melania Trump has said so little that people fill in the blanks with what they imagine she's like, informed by things such as her comment that she wishes her husband would tweet less. It's #freemelania in outlandish meme form.

Gotta Catch 'Em All:
The latest would-be White House fence jumper apprehended by the Secret Service was a man dressed as the Pokemon character Pikachu. Curtis Combs, a 36-year-old Kentuckian, jumped over a concrete barrier on the south grounds of the White House complex Tuesday and was arrested by officers. He said he hoped to upload a video of himself to YouTube jumping the White House fence dressed as Pikachu to become famous, according to court documents.

Mississippi School Named After Jefferson Davis is Getting Renamed:
The Davis International Baccalaureate Elementary School in Jackson, Mississippi, will be renamed after former President Barack Obama. The name change will take place for the 2018-2019 school year.

Obama Love Letters Going on Display:
A series of letters written by a young Obama from 1982 to 1984 to then-girlfriend Alexandra McNear are going on display Friday at Emory University in Atlanta. Said Pellom McDaniels III, curator of African-American collections at Emory's Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives and Rare Book Library: "From slavery to the civil rights movement, and now, to the first African-American president of the United States, these collections provide tremendous insight into what can be described as a spiritual odyssey to wholeness." The website for the letters includes some excerpts, if you want to read.
