JFK, JK!: President Trump doesn't go the distance on the release of the Kennedy docs

"We'll See What Happens" is Trump's Favorite: A detailed look at the history of the President's favorite phrase, which is actually good for teasing episodes of television

What the White House is Talking About:
No public events on President Trump's schedule today, but he met with Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke at 11:30.

What the White House Press Corps is Talking About:
This morning when Trump tweeted "happy birthday" to a DC lawyer named Lee Greenwood, and not the real Lee Greenwood, because deep down inside we're all just 10-year-olds who like to giggle at dumb things, especially on Friday after this week. Also, speaking of Zinke, the brewing Whitefish Energy scandal potential. The small and relatively unknown Montana company was awarded a very lucrative contract to help rebuild Puerto Rico's power grid.
JFK, JK!:
First the President teased we would be able to see the classified JFK assassination documents, but then he backpedaled. There's still some juicy and interesting stuff in the pages that were released...

"We'll See What Happens" is Trump's Favorite:
Our fab CNN Digital Video team put together this hysterical mashup of all the times Trump has used the phrase, "we'll see what happens." He's been using it since at least 1999. The accompanying story also has a few charts that break down the sheer nebulousness of our President's rhetoric.

The New Yorker's latest cover:
Artist Carter Goodrich calls Trump in this one, "dangerous clown."

I Can't Stop Thinking of This:
RIP my mentions, but as we talk about men and grossness and boundaries and speaking out and all the really important and courageous women coming forward -- I am really having trouble with all the unsolicited shoulder rubs and hugs that Joe Biden has done, and I kind of always have. Am I the only one who didn't laugh or say, "aww, Uncle Joe" when he came up behind Stephanie Carter at her husband's swearing-in ceremony and massaged her shoulders and whispered in her ear? Because I definitely didn't. Email me with your thoughts on the subject, I'm curious.

Our Daily Melania/Dress Like the First Lady:
Melania Trump opened yesterday's opioid event at the White House with remarks, and she told personal stories of people she has met whose lives have been affected by the drug crisis in this country. I thought she did well, considering it was her first real speech about a relevant and crucial policy. It's clear the opioid epidemic is something she cares deeply about.

As for the what she wore part, this one took me a while, because black dresses always do. BUT! It's a Martin Grant, from his pre-fall 2017 collection. It retails here for $975. I've noticed when Melania makes speeches, she likes to have a bold sleeve or cuff of some kind -- this was no exception.
