What the White House is Talking About:
President Trump meets at the White House today with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Later, he awards the Medal of Honor to a Vietnam veteran who served as a medic during the war, saving dozens of lives during a secret mission in Laos.

What the White House Press Corps is Talking About:
Still on the missing picture of what exactly happened in Niger that caused the deaths of US soldiers. Trump's tweets this morning continued the discussion of his conversation with Sergeant La David Johnson's widow, Myeshia Johnson.

Our Daily Melania:
The first lady (and me, for coverage) are in Michigan today to participate in an anti-bullying event at a Bloomfield Hills Middle School. All the details here in my story. Melania is kicking off  the "Week of Inclusion," part of National Bullying Prevention Month. She'll meet with sixth graders – the same grade that her son, Barron, is in – and then she has lunch in the school cafeteria with seventh and eighth graders to bring awareness to "No One Eats Alone," which encourages kindness and inclusion. This is all good. Middle school is hard. But I do wonder sometimes if Melania actually trolling her husband – here's a quote from her statement today: "By our own example, we must teach children to be good stewards of the world they will inherit. We need to remember that they are always watching and listening. It is our responsibility to take the lead in teaching children the values of empathy and communication that are the core of kindness, mindfulness, integrity, and leadership."

Dave Letterman Awarded Mark Twain Prize for American Humor:
Letterman was in town for the ceremony Sunday at the Kennedy Center. Jimmy Kimmel was there and joked that "everything was fine" in the world until Letterman retired and "left us to live with an abusive orange stepfather."

One attendee at the awards noted the part where Letterman and his 13-year-old son, Harry, threw some food from the balcony where they were sitting on to the crowd below. Um, fun? Or, not. The guest said a glob of mustard and mayo landed in her hand as she attempted to protect her outfit.

Pete Souza Shot Ex-Prez Concert:
Who better to photograph the ex-Presidents club at their concert this weekend than Pete Souza, former Barack Obama chief photographer and trusty shade-thrower extraordinaire. More on this from Hunter below.

Meridian Ball Was Packed:
On Friday night the Meridian International Center held it's 49th annual Meridian Ball, and this one was the biggest yet, according to organizers. I can vouch that it was crowded, there were sooo many people packed into the Meridian House back garden that it was difficult to move around. Moving around on the dance floor in the tented party space, however, was not a problem – in fact, there were so many dancers of a of a certain age getting their (rhthymically challenged) groove on, that I actually paused for several minutes on the sidelines to observe. I won't name names, but you know who you are. Among the guests at this year's event was Speaker Paul Ryan and his wife Janna.

The dinner, which precedes the dessert and dancing, was lovely. Here's a pic of the menu.

What Washington is Talking About:
President Trump asked House Repubs to back the Senate's budget and said they're "on the verge of doing something very historic" on tax reform in a conference call Sunday.

What America is Talking About:
Justin Timberlake has confirmed: he's doing the Super Bowl halftime show.

Behold, The Wall:
The eight prototypes of Trump's border wall have been build next to each other near San Diego and there's pics to prove it:

Each is about 30 feet tall, four are concrete and four are concrete and steel, and they were made by companies from Alabama, Arizona, Maryland, Mississippi and Texas. Here's a close-up of each one.

Trump Contradicts La David Johnson's Widow:
A private funeral was held Saturday for Sgt. La David Johnson, and this morning, his widow Myeshia said on "Good Morning America" Trump couldn't remember La David's name when he called her and he said as much. She said:

"I was very angry at the tone of his voice and how he said he couldn't remember my husband's name. The only way he remembered my husband's name is because he told me he had my husband's report in front of him and that's when he actually said La David. I heard him stumblin' on trying to remember my husband's name and that's what hurt me the most, because if my husband is out here fighting for our country and he risked his life for our country why can't you remember his name."

Shortly after the interview, Trump tweeted:

Johnson was asked during her "GMA" interview what she would like to say to Trump now. Her answer: "I don't have nothing to say to him."

McCain Shades Trump's Reason for Vietnam Draft Deferment:
In an interview with C-SPAN3 that aired Sunday, Sen. John McCain was critical of the Vietnam draft -- a topic I've heard him discuss before, including last month at the preview for "The Vietnam War" series at the Kennedy Center -- but he included a veiled swipe at Trump, who said he received a deferment from the draft because he had bone spurs. Said McCain:

"We drafted the lowest income level of America and the highest income level found a doctor that would say they had a bone spur. That is wrong. That is wrong. If we are going to ask every American to serve, every American should serve."

On "The View" today, McCain was asked if he thought Trump was a draft dodger and said that he did not, but that "I feel that the system was so wrong that certain Americans could evade their responsibilities to serve the country."

Former POTUSes Raise Money for Hurricane Relief, Lady G Makes Surprise Cameo:
Former Presidents Carter, H.W. Bush, Clinton, W. Bush, and Obama were all on hand Saturday for "Deep From the Heart: The One America Appeal" benefit concert held at Texas A&M's Reed Arena in College Station. Trump recorded a video statement for the event. It came two days after two of the ex-presidents criticized the state of our politics on the same day without mentioning Trump by name -- W. said bigotry was emboldened and politics is more vulnerable to conspiracy theories and fabrication and Obama said divisive politics we thought we "put to bed" had come back. On Friday, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said "our understanding is that those comments were not directed at the President."

Lady Gaga also made a surprise appearance at the benefit, performing "Million Reasons," "You And I" and "The Edge of Glory," (you can watch her performances here) and revealing she donated $1 million to disaster relief. Gaga's kind of becoming the queen of bipartisan pop, isn't she? She echoed her Super Bowl halftime show sentiment, telling the crowd, "We are truly one nation, under God," and writing in a tweet with the former presidents, "Nothing more beautiful than everyone putting their differences aside to help humanity in the face of catastrophe."

Comey Sighting:
Former FBI Director James Comey confirmed "Reinhold Niebuhr," the username believed to be his secret account, is him, tweeting a photo and pledging to try to "tweet in useful ways."

Street Art Sighting:
I've posted here before about RT America's ad campaign around Washington, and it seems they have some new ads on bus shelters, touting their American-ness.The ads, with Jesse Ventura and Mike Papantonio, ask "Is this American enough for you?"
