An unknown number of people were injured and taken to a hospital after the attack, a source briefed on the investigation said.
Mali's Ministry of Security and Civil Protection said "armed individuals, certainly terrorists" attacked Le Campement resort, adding that a Malian anti-terror force was on the scene.
