That's well below the average growth of 175,000 jobs a month so far this year. | | | | But it's mostly because the numbers will include the effects of several weather disasters. | | | | Hurricane Harvey shut down activity in Houston for days, and Hurricanes Irma and Maria have hit businesses in Florida. | | | | Employers added 156,000 jobs in August -- a slowdown from previous months. | | | | 2. Pound under pressure: The British pound has had a very rough week, shedding 2.5% against the dollar since Sunday.
