Venture to the southern coast of the Dominican Republic in the Las Calderas peninsula, and you'll find the Dunes of Baní. The dunes stretch on for 9 miles on this part of the island, the tallest topping out at more than 114 feet high. The largest in the Caribbean, they were declared a national monument in 1996. People come to this picturesque region to walk on the sand, which is super smooth, and climb the dunes—it's quite a workout. Some even sandboard on the mountainous piles.
Troy James is flexible—like, human pretzel, touch your elbows to your toes to your nose flexible. Growing up, he hid his abilities after being teased by other kids, but today, his twist and turn has become his greatest asset.
