After President Viktor Yanukovych was ousted from Ukraine in 2014, he left his luxurious estate behind—including a private zoo. Fearing for the lives of the abandoned animals, zoologist Sergey Grigoryev came to the rescue, visiting the ex-president's compound with the plan of checking in for a couple of days. Four years later, he's still there. Today, he tends to the wide variety of animals on the property and hopes to one day turn the estate into a national park. |
