"I'm just a girl who loves to lowride." 10/11/18 This Lowriding Reina Reigns Supreme Ruby Ramirez likes to cruise low and slow in her 1950 Chevy Fleetline. When people see the glistening car on Bay Area streets, they sometimes assume it belongs to her husband. They couldn't be more wrong—that beauty is all Ruby's. The co-founder of the Califas Car Club, Ruby is one of just a few women in her local lowrider community—but with each block, she hopes to inspire others to get in on the sweet, slow fun. Records of the River Ganges The Ganges River is a highly revered site by Hindus and an iconic, historical epicenter in India. In small offices that line the river, a dedicated group of priests, known as pandits, keep handwritten records of everyone who has visited the holy site. These documents function as historical and genealogical archives that even record births and deaths in each visiting family. With archives dating back 20 generations, it is the largest handwritten family tree in the world.   This Great Big Story was made possible by Incredible India. Smashing Stereotypes in Synchronized Swimming Pau Ribes wanted to be a synchronized swimmer since he watched his first show at the age of 7. Unfortunately, at the time, synchronized swimming was a sport only practiced professionally by women. Still, he didn't give up on his passion, with the help of Panteres Grogues—a  nonprofit dedicated to helping the LGBT community succeed in sports. In 2015, Ribes made his debut on the world stage, marking the first time men were allowed to compete on an international level. He hopes to continue swimming and smashing barriers, with the goal of one day being able to compete in the Olympics.
