As the month of Ramadan winds down, families around the world are preparing their last iftar meals to break their daily fasts. Venture into the kitchen of five Muslim women preparing food for their families in five different countries, from India to Syria to the United States. Many are cooking recipes handed down to them from their mothers, relying on memory and instinct rather than measuring cups or spoons to prepare the perfect, flavorful dish. Though none of these women have met one another, there is a bond of tradition and global community that connects them. This film was voiced by Ascia Al Faraj. It took 10 filmmakers stationed around the world to make this series possible. Meet the folks behind the camera who captured our stories about Ramadan. |
