The Baby Whisperer
Over the last 12 years, David Deutchman has held and soothed over 1,200 babies at the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital. He's a "baby buddy," a person who spends time comforting babies who are delivered prematurely or who may require special medical attention.
Ascend Thailand's Temple of the Rising Dragon
In the Samphran district of Thailand sits one of the country's most spectacular Buddhist temples. Wat Samphran is a towering pink masterpiece scaling in at 80 meters high—an homage to the number of years Buddha lived. Known for the hollow dragon's head that encircles the temple, visitors are welcome to ascend the 17-story superstructure to touch the dragon's beard, or climb inside the belly of the beast.
Launching Flowers Into Outer Space
When it comes to flower arrangements, Japanese artist Makoto Azuma is quite literally pushing the boundaries out of this world. It all started 20 years ago, when the one-time rock musician took a part-time job at a flower shop. The experience made him think: "If flowers symbolize Earthly beauty, how can I push nature's boundaries?" His answer: bring flowers to outer space.
