This mashup of doughnuts and ice cream is the magnificence we all deserve. It's called the Smash Donut, and you can find it at Tony Bahul's Yonutz shop in Sunrise, Florida. So what goes into a Smash Donut? It starts with cutting a glazed doughnut in half, then filling it with ice cream, heating it up in a hot press, breaking it in half and covering it in cereal and sprinkles. We'll give you a second to recover from that sugar rush.
Uniting Voices Against Distracted Driving
At age 6, Misael Rico was run over by a distracted driver while he was walking to school. The driver was texting when her vehicle jumped the curb. Misael survived, but endured more than 20 surgeries and now suffers from hearing loss, double vision and other health problems. Eight years later, Misael is thankful to be alive. He started United Voices Alive to urge drivers to pledge to drive safely. In his own words, "Life is priceless, but a text isn't."
It's amazing what Anne Rosat can do with a pair of scissors. This 83-year-old artist has been depicting life in the Swiss Alps through the folk art known as papercutting for 50 years. Using scissors, paper, tweezers and glue, she crafts intricate, colorful and layered works that are uniquely hers. Rosat invites us into her home to show us how she tells beautiful stories with paper.
